Installation
Installation instructions:
Diamond Board comes coated in a marine grade sealer. Any alterations to the product creates an opportunity for water damage if not installed properly.
Seal any cut edge with a marine grade sealer.
Use door and window grade exterior silicone caulk to seal any holes made in the board for fasteners or other hardware.
Avoid scuffing, scoring and scraping to board as much as possible during installation. The coating is thick and durable but the board can be vulnerable to water damage if the coating is removed. If this happens, reseal the exposed area with a marine grade sealer.
It is recommended and common practice to wrap slide floors in a water resistant material like Darco Wrap. It can be fastened with an adhesive like 3M HoldFast 70 Spray Adhesive.
Over time the slide rollers will wear the sealer off of the board. We recommend regularly scheduled checks for damage to the board exposing the raw wood. If damage is visible, coat the area with a marine grade sealer and replace damaged wrap.
Diamond Board can also be coated with spray coatings like truck bed liner material.
Diamond Board is a wood product, if not protected from exterior elements, it may warp, curl, twist and delaminate over time in extreme conditions.
UV damage can happen to the coating over time if exposed to direct sunlight while in storage.
Avoid excessive humidity and moisture in the area where the product is stored for an extended amount of time.
